Mind Eat!
Mindful Eating Field Research Eating TopographyEating, despite being fundamental to our existence, is not always central to our attention. Our eating practices are increasingly overshadowed by the simultaneous presence of digital media technologies that conflict with the ideologies of mindfulness. While these technologies have become ubiquitous, little is known about their effect on mindful eating practices. To contribute to this understanding, we present a qualitative field study of 10 participants who narrate a descriptive account of their eating habits across three contexts: solo dining, social dining and dining in front of a screen.
